I happened to stumble across the work of Dolores Cannon recently in my search for past life regression therapy. After finding a practitioner of QHHT in my area, I went about learning as much as I could about Dolores and her work. This journey began on Youtube where I was able to find a plethora of information with which I resonated very well with. I then went to check out her books on Kindle and just happened to see that her Convoluted Universe book 5 that was not due out until November had become available on Kindle just the previous day. Even though this would be my first Dolores Cannon book and the 5th in a series I decided to buy it as I thought it would be exciting to be one of the first to be reading her new information.Sure enough, with the background information from Youtube I was able to jump right into the 5th book in the series without any trouble. In fact it felt like every story was written just for me, expanding my mind and reassuring me about everything I have going on in my own life. The whole experience from finding the practitioner, to the off chance that I found this book the way that I did, to each chapter sharing a vital message that I needed to hear all seemed so wonderfully serendipitous.Dolores does a fantastic job delivering her message in a simple to grasp transcription of the dialogue within her sessions. She adds insights and background information as needed to make sure the reader is able to grasp the bigger picture. It was a delight to read.I would highly recommended this book and/or any of Dolores's other material or even her QHHT therapy as she and her trained practitioners are truly in touch with something awesome and wonderful! It is my opinion that anyone who is on the journey of expanding their spiritual self and opening their heart to Love needs to familiarize themselves with the work of this great lady and all that she has given us.

Convoluted Universe V contains snippets from Dolores Cannon's deep hypnosis past-life regression sessions using her Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique that sends your mind into universes never dreamed of and outside the parameters of conscious reality. The word "Wow" will come to your mind as you turn each page and contemplate each chapter. Who would have expected that the sun, other galaxies, the oceans, could have supported our "souls" to continue their journey in different shapes, figures, energies, etc. These cases also don't fit our normal perception of what reincarnation and past lives and linear reality are all about as we are also presented with concepts such as parallel lives and alternative realities, etc. Whatever it is, prepare your mind to be stretched into possibilities and scenarios never before considered or imagined...and ponder many thoughts that make you consider that what you're going through now that seems difficult is really all part of a grand scenario of many lifetimes, none more important than any other, in your soul's journey. Perhaps the journey you experience reading this book can provide the ability to reflect and release the fears and traumas you carry around in your current conscious journey and give yourself permission to heal. As the author penned (p. 309), " 'They' " have always told me to tell the client that 90% of what happens here today is up to YOU" unless your condition is part of your karmic agreement and lessons to be learned. Whatever you experience in reading/rereading this book, may it assist you to move forward in your current conscious reality in a "happy and healthy way."Dr. Norma Lent Auerbach

Reading this book by Dolores Cannon made me realize how appropriately the title “Convoluted Universe” fits in with its contents. It would be hard to find more “convoluted” life experiences than those that are featured in this book. Words seem totally inadequate when confronted by the gestalts reported in this bookIf one is to find a common theme in this book, it is the uncovering of the life purpose of the individual through a meaningful contact with his/her Higher Self. Culling this information has been an ongoing theme in the earlier books in the series called “The Convoluted Universe” but in this book, the need to do so is more imperative than ever before. The information is very specific and would be hard, if not impossible to glean from the individual’s present life experience alone. The reason is that conventional ecumenical values do not hold when confronting the effects of all the previous lifetimes. This is why Dolores Cannon’s experiences with her clients are so unpredictable, because most of us readers define ourselves through well- intentioned societal values, and even the most diehard of atheists cannot conceive the vista of the exigencies of consciousness, where development is concerned. Dolores Cannon’s books are so popular for this very reason, she presents her findings from the source as she finds it without questioning their validity through filters conjured up by the mind. So her clients under hypnosis could experience lifetimes as diverse as a column of stone, a part of an amorphous cloud, a salamander, a mermaid (yes, it seems as if they exist on this planet), a seeker seeking to experience being pure energy, a gladiator- turned - writer in a later lifetime, among others, some with vastly superior technologies than we possess today. After hypnosis, many of the clients experienced a total healing of their physical bodies , as essential information pertaining to the purpose of the present incarnation had been disclosed and the energies of the present lifetime could be channeled to a fast track evolution as many backdrop issues are cleared away. All this is exemplified in Dolores’ quote that is highlighted in this book “We have all the answers. We just need to allow ourselves the right questions.”Another aspect to this book that is common to many of the experiences recorded in it, is that of the many changes that are coming to our planet and how many souls from other worlds and galaxies are answering a call from above (wherever that is) to help. It is clear from the many sessions recorded in this book that the Earth is changing and the frequency of human beings is being amplified considerably. Many of the souls that have volunteered to come here today are facing painful health issues and/or depression for their bodies/minds are not designed to deal with these unfamiliar energies, not least because all memories of the past have been erased at birth and one has to start anew. This is where the Higher Self of the individual comes in during the session, to clear up dormant issues and attune the individual’s body to a more appropriately tuned degree of consciousness, commensurate with the changed scenario on our planet.Apart from the features mentioned above, it is fascinating to read about how we as a species interact with others not of our kind and the kind of adjustments required to sustain a dialogue with the latter. The role of karma and how it is possible to sidestep its negative aspects is taken up in some detail. We also learn that the sun is a massive star gate and not as hot as we believe it to be. We learn of souls with physical bodies letting other souls come into them in order to help ground more energy while they wait in the wings and observe. There is a detailed mention of the backdrop people, of the concomitant changes in the Universe, prompted by the changes leading to the New Earth. There is a chapter on how everybody has a motherboard which is the default overlay of tiny electric currents involving the DNA that keeps the person going and define what s/he is supposed to do in this lifetime. There is also a mention of Creator light beings that can create planets using holographic symbols. The ultimate goal for all is to realize that we can do everything we think about and succeed, thus reclaiming our innate divine power. This is a book to be read and reread to absorb its amazing import, one sitting is not enough.Warmly recommended.

The WWII Japanese Internment camps represent a sad, embarrassing chapter in American history, which is probably why I never read about it during my time in school. Over 110,000 Japanese people were forcibly sent to 1 of 10 camps throughout the West. The majority of the internees were actually U.S. citizens, some 2nd or 3rd generation. The author was only 7 when her family was bused from Los Angeles to Manzanar in a remote corner of the Eastern Sierra between Mt. Whitney and Death Valley. The camp wasn't even completed yet when the first internees arrived. Families were assigned half of a flimsy barracks building with no walls for privacy. They ate communal meals and used communal toilets. The climate was hostile, with heavy winds howling down off of the mountains kicking up dust constantly. The cold winter weather penetrated the thin tar-papered walls of the barracks buildings. In spite of the remote, hostile environment, the inhabitants worked to make their temporary home more comfortable, by decorating and building partitions. They cultivated vegetable gardens and harvested fruit from the orchards. Kids went to school; babies were conceived and born at the camp. In short, life went on. However, the camp life lead to an inevitable deterioration in the family structure. Meals were communal rather than family events, and parents had no way of providing for their families in the traditional method. Jeanne's father had a very difficult time in camp, and deteriorated into alcoholism. As she wrote in the book though her life started in camp, her father's life ended there. He never recovered his fishing business or his sense of self worth. The book provides an insightful glimpse into the daily life in the camps as well as the emotional and economic toll extracted from the inhabitants. They lost their businesses, their homes, their way of life and their dignity. In a sad commentary on the personal havoc wreaked by the camps, the author noted that the last to leave were the elderly people; they had nothing to return to, and no energy or confidence to go back into their old communities and rebuild so they hung onto camp life until forced to leave.I had the opportunity to visit the desolate, remote Manzanar camp in 2012. Only a couple of barracks are left, but there is an excellent visitor center that faithfully recreates what it must have been to live there. You can drive around the roads and see how large the camp was. The magnificent mountain range looms large on the horizon, with tantalizing beauty and freedom, which was denied to those inside the barbed wire fences.Farewell to Manzanar is a beautifully written important memoir since there is so little written about that time. Pay no attention to the number of 1 and 2-star reviews. It appears that most of those are written by school age children who were forced to read the book and do a review, and probably didn't appreciate the cultural significance of the internment camps.

A personal account of how devastating it was for Japanese-Americans to be rounded up and interned during WWII. Previously I had only a vague notion of the facts. Reading this book was like living the fear, shame, and deprivation right along with the Wakatsuki family. After Pearl Harbor, when a new Federal policy labeled Japanese-Americans as undesirables and exiled them to remote desert camps, the plucky Wakatsukis, and over a hundred thousand more like them, struggled daily to preserve their family life and their self-respect despite degrading conditions and helpless dependence on handouts. As the war drew to a close the camps were shut down, but their effects on the interned Japanese-Americans were lifelong and reached into the next generation. This small but powerful book is a page-turner.

I read this book with my three boys (ages 13 and a pair of 12 year old twins) as an adjunct to Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank. I read Diary of a Young Girl as a pre-read for the twins' 7th grade literature assignments coming up this school year. The book was dreaded by the boys but ended up being "not so bad." As an additional perspective on WWII, following the recommendation of the twins' academic counselor, we read this book, which was very good and a bit more relevant to half-Chinese kids growing up in California.Farewell to Manzanar is a memoir, written by a woman who was 7 when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. She is a Nissei, which is a first-generation Japanese; her father left Japan as a young man to try his luck in the U.S. The story starts with her memories of December 7, 1941, and moves through the multiple relocations and forced evacuations and mysterious arrest and imprisonment of her father. She describes Camp Manzanar, and reflects poignantly about her father's emotional challenges and her own struggle with racial and cultural duality. This is a lovely, low-commitment read which lends touching insight not only into the terrible way Japanese-American civilians were treated by the American government, but also, more broadly, the challenges I believe all Asian cultures face - the dilemma of assimilation v. individual rights. Racial bias exists in the oddest places and often, when encountered, is either innocuous or ridiculous enough to warrant disbelief, dismissal. However, the stain of personal shame is unavoidable in all of these situations, and Farewell to Manzanar eloquently depicts this exquisite conundrum.

WARNING! CONTAINS SPOILERS! I am eleven years old and I read this book for summer reading. I am an advanced reader but it was very confusing because the times and years kept bouncing around. It is a true story mainly about a girl, who is the youngest of ten, from a Japanese- American family during World War II. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, they're sent to an internment camp. SPOILER ALERT! Her dad is sent to jail for allegedly sending oil to Japan. In the beginning of the story, Jeanne is seven years old , but she is about 35 at the end. The story is set in the internment camp, middle school, high school, and home. It is a very sad book, but also happy. When I finished the book, I was both sad and confused. I give this book three stars because the book was kind of interesting but confusing at the same time. If I could change anything, I would put the story actually in chronological order, instead of the storyline bouncing around. My favorite part was the end when Jeanne comes back to the internment camp with her kids years later and she looks around, remembering funny and sad memories. It was the most emotional part of the story. I would recommend this book to teens and adults.

When I was looking for a book to address this with my at the time very young child -7ish(I went through it with his younger sister who didn't believe a word of it) who had some questions, I looked at dozens of books and rejected most. This book did a great job of answering the questions without generating worry or questions that they didn't have until later (12, 13 years old) I didn't like the title at the time, but the very beginning of the book states that there are two meanings of sex, gender and sexual intercourse, then goes on to state that they will be using the term sexual intercourse as the proper term for the rest of the book. It gives all the facts without trying to be funny about it, proper terminology without being clinical. Just bare bones - really what most kids want to know. Now that I've been looking for some help for the same child, now 12, dealing with making sense of all the overinformation of the school friends - His questions and curiosities go in more depth. Many of the books go into, maturbation, attraction to the same gender, oral and anal sex, choosing to have sex or not, defining petting, STDs unwanted pregnancies, abortions.......Ugh, I truly think my 12 year old is too young to be thinking about any of it, but unfortunately, he has many questions thanks to friends. Knowing he'll get the answers somewhere, I'd rather know he's getting accurate information and letting him know I don't expect him to be the source of the information for others. So, if you have a teenager that has been hearing way too much, then this book is a great start, but they unfortunately probably have more questions that you can choose to address or not.FYI - my kid asks and tells much more than most - but if your child is the same age, just because they aren't telling you doesn't mean they're not hearing it. We live in a very nice "sheltered" area, so if they're hearing it in "Mayberry", chances are...

I've always been straightforward with my daughter, who is now 11, about her body. She is well informed about puberty, periods and such. I was struggling with how to talk to her about sex since she is still rather innocent in her knowledge. Many books on sex include topics like STDs, masturbation, oral sex, etc., which just seemed too advanced for her at this stage. Then I found this book - Sex and Babies...First Facts - and it was exactly what I was looking for! Very factual and straight forward. The illustrations are very much in keeping with the tone of the book. Other books I researched had cartoon illustrations, which seemed inappropriate and ridiculous. The reality of sex was shocking enough for my daughter that anything over and above what was included in this book would have been way over the top for the stage she is in. As she matures, I will certainly tackle the other issues, but for now this book was perfect. If you are looking for a way to explain the facts of sex to your child in a basic way, get this book! You will not be disappointed!

This is a safe and comfortable book that parents and teachers can use to talk about sex issues with their children. The illustrations are very helpful and the text that accompanies is factual and sensible. This is a must for all parents who have to handle the topic of sex at some point or another with their curios children.

Certainly there is some creative license taken in the story (as there is with all art) but the place it is taken is stunning. Gives you permission to think about your own questions. Beautiful illustrations. Wonderful story. You'll want to soak in every page for hours yet simultaneously trying to get to the next panel as quick as possible to learn what happens next. If you are on the fence, BUY THIS.

Art is fantastic, the story is deep and thought provokenly beautiful. If you’re at all familiar with the Christ story do yourself a favor and check this out, and if you’re not still give it a shot the art and themes are universal.

Very enjoyable, and interesting read.

Is it Canon? No. But is it a fun and fascinating read about redemption? Absolutely. Definitely worth picking up and the art is just stunning too.

This story is so excellent. Loveness hits on sho the themes of christianity. It'd be great for the nonreligious and religious alike. I heard the author talking on the Good Christian Fun podcast and it sounded like such an interesting and great story I had to check out.

BEAUTIFUL art and a great story, something to think about.

A beautiful interpretation of faith and it's fragile, flawed nature as a product of those who make it. I enjoyed this greatly.

The book showed up quickly and in great shape. I didn’t have any issues so I couldn’t really be happier.
