Jennifer L. Taitz, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist and director of the dialectical behavior therapy program at the American Institute for Cognitive Therapy in New York, NY. She is a certified diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and is a founding board member of the New York City Association for Contextual Behavior Science. Her expertise lies in emphasizing simultaneous acceptance and change and providing tangible tools to help people get “unstuck” so they are better able to regulate their emotions. I found this book in my own CBT project, as I understand trough my history that I get more in tune with weight loss when I'm reading about it.Weight loss is barely mentioned and emotional eating is approached in the context of emotional regulation and awareness. I am eating somewhat less after reading this book (which I'm reading again, something I NEVER do) but I'm not dieting. It makes sense and feels right.I'm a CBT therapist and got really interested in this approach and techniques. I already see myself teaching some of them to my clients.

I have read this book twice in the last few months. No! It will not solve your problems. Yes! This book is great. This is a great addition to anyone receiving professional help or if doing it on your own, it is a must read in your personal library of self-help books. Emotional eating broken down into layman's terms and every page is chock full of insight and knowledge.

The author clearly explains each point in detail. The information given in this book actually can help with other issues in one's life, not only with eating disorders. End Emotional Eating provides not only immediate help but hope that can be realised by implementing the suggested steps. I strongly encourage those seeking effective strategies for intervention to BUY THIS BOOK!!!

I am actually still reading it. It almost feels like it was written for me! I have a notebook and I am doing every question/exercise. I have read several other books on emotional eating, but this one has been very helpful.

This book really helped change my thinking and attitude about emotions, and not just regarding emotional eating, but emotions of all kinds. The explanations, imagery, examples... it's so helpful. 33 years of negative self talk... take that!!

I am reading through this book slowly and engaging in many of the activities she suggests. I plan on re-reading it as soon as I finish because I really want to continue to assimilate a Mindful, Thoughtful way of being into my entire life.

One of the best books I have read on dealing with emotional eating! I recommend it often to my clients! I have lost 220lbs and it has helped me a great deal in my journey!
